At Sandbox Holding, we are proud to share the journey of Nasrat Khalid , an Afghan entrepreneur and founder of AseelApp. His vision shows that real entrepreneurship is not only about starting companies; it is about helping Afghan to reach world.
Nasrat path is built on both education and social purpose. He studied at the University of Essex in the UK, where he earned a Master’s in Business and Management. This gave him the knowledge to connect global business ideas with the daily needs of Afghan people.
Before starting Aseel, Nasrat worked with World Bank , Chemonics International, and taught at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) of Afghanistan. These experiences showed him how technology can help fragile countries and how Afghan entrepreneurs can compete internationally.
He then created Aseel . With very limited resources, he built a platform where Afghan artisans can sell carpets, embroidery, and handicrafts directly to buyers around the world. Later, when Afghanistan faced humanitarian crises, Aseel expanded into the Do Good platform, which delivers food and medical supplies to families in need. More than just an app, Aseel became a lifeline protecting culture while saving lives.
Nasrat leadership was recognized globally when he became AseelApp selected among the Top 100 Startups in the Entrepreneurship World Cup 2022., one of the biggest competitions for entrepreneurs worldwide. This honor showed that Afghan innovation can shine on the global stage.
What makes Nasrat Khalid special is his strength. He used his vision and energy during very hard times, turning Afghanistan’s challenges into opportunities. By connecting Afghan artisans and citizens with global standards, he has shown that entrepreneurship means staying committed to progress even when obstacles are great.
